Spiritual and moral culture is an important part of higher military education. This research tested the efficiency of fostering spiritual and moral values in military university students (cadets) to identify the problem points and propose pedagogical techniques to solve them. The methodology and theory relied on a wide range of scientific publications on spiritual and moral upbringing, which yielded an authentic definition of the concept of spiritual and moral culture of a cadet. The optimal pedagogical conditions and solutions were selected empirically, based on a number of best practice studies. A survey made it possible to assess the level of spiritual and moral culture in a group of military university students, as well as to propose a set of teaching methods and integrate them into the academic process as an elective course. The pedagogical experiment proved effective as it cast light upon some existing contradictions, thus bringing forward the relevance of spiritual and moral culture as part of military education.
