Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
Modern Math teachers not only give knowledge but also develop students’ research skills, critical thinking, and creativity. During design and research activities, school students apply mathematical concepts to various practical tasks, which contributes to a deeper understanding of the subject. The article describes different approaches to the design and research activities in Math class in preparatory schools. By formulating the goals and objectives of this work, teachers encourage students to develop their critical thinking, independent information retrieval, and problem solving. A design and research project involves topic selection, teaming, planning, several stages of implementation, evaluation, and presentation. The interdisciplinary potential of the design and research projects makes it possible to integrate mathematics with other subjects. Several examples demonstrate how Mathematics can be applied to real life situations and various fields of knowledge, which increases students’ involvement and interest, as well as encourages creativity. Design and research activities are an effective tool that develops competencies needed for socialization and career success.
