Advanced credibility assessment technologies rely on verbal and non-verbal cues, as well as physiological and electrochemical processes. This article explores the role and significance of various methods used to obtain and evaluate testimony during criminal investigation. It provides a historical overview of contemporary deception-detecting technologies used in criminal proceedings and various legal procedures. The author developed an international classification of modern credibility assessment technologies based on timing, data transmission methods, and the type of credibility assessor.
